OUR WORK WITH THE House Commitee on Solid Minerals

GGSF has played a strategic and foundational role in elevating governance, coordination, and policy planning within Nigeria’s solid minerals sector through our work with the House of Representatives Committee on Solid Minerals. Our contributions went far beyond traditional consultancy, we helped build the structure, systems, and strategic clarity needed to strengthen national oversight of this critical sector.

Serving as Legislative Consultant, GGSF provided end-to-end support across strategy, legislative organizing, programme management, and operational coordination. By working directly with the Committee Chairman and members of the Committee, we helped transform broad policy intentions into clear goals, measurable milestones, and actionable legislative priorities.

One of our key impacts was developing the research base and legislative documents required to guide decision-making on complex mineral sector issues. We ensured that committee positions, policy proposals, and oversight activities were grounded in evidence, clarity, and strategic intent, giving lawmakers the tools they needed to advocate effectively for sector reform and growth.

We also strengthened the Committee’s internal capacity by training project teams, introducing programme management methodologies, and building systems that improved workflow, documentation, and accountability. This enabled the Committee to operate with greater structure, predictability, and efficiency.

Another major contribution was GGSF’s role in coordinating and supervising specialized consultants. We managed their onboarding, aligned their tasks with the Committee’s objectives, monitored their timelines, and ensured the quality of their deliverables. By identifying and mitigating risks as they emerged, we ensured that the Committee’s work moved forward smoothly and without disruption.

Throughout the tenure of the engagement, GGSF provided consistent reporting and transparent updates to the Committee Chairman and the full Committee. These reports improved oversight, strengthened communication, and ensured that leadership always had a clear understanding of progress, challenges, and next steps.
